- Half-timber Work - A method of house construction in which the walls are made of timber frames with the openings filled in with brickwork.
- Hardboard - Low-cost wooden board made of compressed fibre.
- Hawk - A small board with a handle which is used to hold mortar.
- Head Plate - The length of wood which forms the top rail of a stud partition.
- Header - The end or short face of a brick, as it shows in the face of a wall. The long face is called the "stretcher."
- Hipped Roof - A pitched roof, the end of which is also sloped back, meeting the sides in a pair of hips.
- Hollow Core Door - A flush door with hardboard or plywood faces glued to a skeleton framework.
