- Lath - Strips of wood on which to put plaster work - metal lath is a mesh used for the same purpose.
- Laying Off - Applying light, finishing, paint strokes to avoid runs.
- Light - A pane of glass or the space in a window frame into which the glass fits.
- Lintel - The upper horizontal length of timber, stone or steel which spans an opening such as a window.
- Load-bearing Wall - A strong wall which is capable of supporting weight.
- Lock Nut - A nut which is designed to remain tight and not slacken off due to vibration.
- Lock Washer - A washer which prevents nuts from becoming loose under vibration.
- Louvre - A ventilating door or window of inclined horizontal slats.
